Kuko De Kobra’s upcoming sixth album “That Bird Has Flown” will have something for everyone. The first single “Bit Part Actor” showed the Danish hard rock trio right at home taking on the classic riff-heavy seventies rock song while still giving it their own very melodic touch.

The next release takes things in another direction – or two, since it is a double A side.

First up is “A Girl Like Me” - a power pop song that really does pop with its hard, driving beat and memorable hooks. Next is “Lighthouse Waltz” - where the waltz is fed through both sixties torch songs and tasty, ethereal lap steel by Mr. Uffe Nørtoft.

But what do these songs have in common? Burning fervor and female guest vocalists. On “A Girl Like Me” Lonnie Geertsmas high notes dots the i's on the irresistible chorus and on “Lighthouse Waltz” Heidi Hansen’s strong vibrato takes the listener through a heartfelt duet with lead singer John Sharling.

In under five and a half minutes Kuko De Kobra and their guests deliver two catchy songs that hopefully will make new and old listeners take notice.
